Three years ago, my husband and I tried a Craig's fish sandwich at the nautical flea market in Islamorada and it was HUGE!. $15-16 for one sandwich but was too big to hold without using two hands. We both ate the sandwich and even shared with our dog. A couple of months (5-6) ago I stopped to get to go fish sandwiches. They weren't as big and the order was incorrect. Today, I stopped in for to go orders for lunch and the fish sandwich was the size of a two sliders for $16. Two sandwiches and one beer was over $40. For a sandwich that could actually be eaten in 4-5 small bites. Ridiculous! This is will my last Craig's stop. Too much money for what you get. Then when I questioned the two servers they glared at me and gave each other the "look". Done.
Not worth the stop. Waited over 45 minutes for our food after ordering. The onions in the steak sandwich were not edible. My father ordered a fish sandwich blackened and it was nowhere near blackened. My water was empty for over 10 minutes, and the only reason it was filled was because we stopped the waitress. We were mostly ignored. Gratuity is added into your bill automatically with the total, then below it has recommended tipping printed. The service wasn’t worth the 20%. It’s probably why gratuity is automatic. Wouldn’t get the tips otherwise.
Best meat loaf I ever had in a restaurant I wouldn't even mention it to my wife it was that good because she makes a great meatloaf too. Lol It came with green beans and red potatoes so good it was the best !!!
We go to the Keys annually but haven't been to Craig's Diner until yesterday ... and won't go back again. My husband's French dip sandwich had plastic wrap in it and his side of pasta salad had a piece of hair. After bringing it to the manager's attention, she removed it from our bill. The waitress however, had added an item to the bill that we hadn't ordered, so we had to wait for that to be cleared up as well. Save yourself the aggregation and go someplace else.
Great local hole in the wall with friendly service. The famous fish sandwich was really tasty.
